[Music plays and text appears on screen: Donator or Dumper, which one are you?] Narrator: Our charities rely on donations. [Image changes to show a child carrying a box of toys] When we donate we help their work in the community we help them help us. [Camera pans over a sign which reads: We make a living by what we do but we make a life by what we give] But dumping is the opposite of charity. Illegal dumpers can be fined up to $4,000. [Different images of rubbish flash by on the screen] Stuff that’s soiled, stained, damaged or not working belongs at the tip. [Image changes to show rubbish truck emptying its load at the tip] If you’re not sure, ask yourself, would you buy this? [Camera pans around the inside of an op-shop] If you’re still not sure, call your local charity and ask. Every year in New South Wales we illegally dump 15,000 tonnes of junk at our charities. [Image changes to show unwanted items being collected by volunteers and removed] The cost of taking that to the tip is more than $3 million. Every day our charities lose to dumping is a day they can’t spend helping people. [Camera pans over items inside an op-shop and then changes to show pictures of volunteers assisting people in need] So for the people they help through our communities, please spread the word against dumping by showing this video on Facebook, by email, however you can. And please remember to donate.
